Chris Raynard

CHRIS RAYNARD

HEAD COACH & OWNER

With a degree in Sport & Exercise Science (applied biomechanics) and a Masters of research in Sports Rehabilitation, Chris is the head coach, founder and owner of Optimal Performance.

With a wealth of hands on experience working in the field, and vast experience with regards to Performance Nutrition, Strength & Conditioning and Sports Rehabilitation, Chris oversees all the programming and systems developed under the Optimal Performance ethos. Chris is also a certified Precision Nutrition Coach, Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms) and Certified Conditioning Coach utilising the skill sets gained with a host of clients ranging from combat athletes, footballers, golfers, gym goers and general members of the public.

When not coaching our OP clients, Chris enjoys running, endurance based challenges, lifting weights. It’s also fair to say Chris is partial to a coffee & croissant with family & friends and spends the majority of his down time eating out!

Matthew Leather

MATHEW LEATHER

HEAD OF SPORTS MASSAGE THERAPY & RECOVERY

Mat has been with us for over 3 years now and has took many of the OP team from Pain to Performance. Mat oversees all mobility/recovery specific programming through the OP app and also runs the OP running club every Sunday building the community and keeping everyone accountable with their fitness and conditioning.

After completing certifications in Sports massage therapy & Rehabilitation, Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialism & Pain Free Performance (PFP) it’s fair to say Mat’s skill set will enable you to improve overall function & health.

Outside of work,  Mat enjoys a round of golf, chasing that pump in the gym alongside driving his car too fast! 💨
